Tower of Bascio
Of the castrum Bascii or Biscii, originally belonging to the Olive Trees of Pignano, there is news since 1145, cited among the lands confirmed by Pope Eugene III to the Camaldolese monastery of San Salvatore di Monte Acuto.Towards the middle of the thirteenth century following the internal division of the assets operated by the Carpegna family, it is owned by the branch of the counts of Gattara descendants of Rainaldo di Carpegna.With the extinction of the Carpegna di Gattara occurred in the 1409 the castle together with those of Gattara and Miratoio passes to Galeazzo Malatesta lord of Pesaro.Repurchased by the counts of Carpegna in 1420 and subsequently following a further division of the assets occurred in 1463 is owned by Francesco di Carpegna.Erected in the principality in 1685 by Emperor Leopold I, it remained autonomous until 1819 year of annexation to the state Pontificio.La tower, owned by the municipality, it was restored in 2015.
